Bengaluru’s Museum of Art and Photography holds an online curatorial walkthrough by Tamsin Hong, the curator of “Arpita Singh: Remembering” at the Serpentine Galleries, London. This is the first solo institutional exhibition of Arpita Singh outside of India, and features her selected oeuvre spanning more than six decades, from the 1960s to the presente day. The show comprises large-scale oil paintings as well as more intimate watercolours and ink drawings. Singh’s paintings centre on her emotional and psychological state, drawing from Bengali folk art and Indian stories, interwoven with experiences of social upheaval and global conflict.
